Pol the Pirate Mouse
Pol the Pirate Mouse is a concept I helped develop for an animation show.
Together with writer Tingue Dongelmans and producer Submarine Studio we developed her world over the years.

How it started
Pol the Pirate Mouse began with a tiny sketch of a curious little mouse. I showed the drawing to Bruno Felix at the animation studio I had recently collaborated with, and he immediately saw its potential.
He encouraged me to design a group of friends to go with it — and that was the starting point for what would later become the world of Pol the Pirate Mouse.
Over time, more talented people joined the project: directors, writers, designers and animators. Together, we developed the story, the characters and the world around them — step by step, with a lot of dedication, imagination and collaboration.
I designed the characters, illustrated the original children’s book (published in 2019), and later took on the role of character art director for the translation from 2D to 3D. I helped guide the visual development, and painted many of the final textures in Substance Painter myself.
Pol the Pirate Mouse is set to premiere at Cinekid Festival in Amsterdam later this year — and I’m excited to see where her adventure will lead next.
